Music Self-Connection Programme

Listening To Music

This is for you if;

  • You are drawn to music, but it feels deeper than just learning notes

  • You feel there’s more inside you, but you’re not fully expressing it

  • You’re ready to grow but, need the right guidance and space

  • You want to feel more confident, connected, and aligned with yourself

  • You are not looking for a diagnosis regarding your mental health but rather a mentor to help you with self-reflection, a guide to encourage emotional awareness and facilitate sessions to help notice patterns.

8-week project includes

  • Weekly one-to-one sessions (online video calls via Zoom)

  • Guided exercises (your chosen instrument/voice + mindset)

  • Personal support / check-ins via email

  • Detailed notes of every session sent to you, so you can focus on being present instead of taking notes yourself

  • A clear transformation goal

  • Reflection & growth tracking

By the end of this journey you will:

  • Have started to feel more confident expressing yourself

  • Have a deeper connection with who you are

  • Have more self-awareness

  • Be able to use music as a tool for emotional clarity and the musical skills to create, perform and express

  • Be able to embrace and accept fear and self-doubt to move forward with more compassion towards yourself

How it works

If you got this far, this is for you. I’ve always felt that music is more than something you play - it’s something you experience. Through my own journey, I realised that music unlocks parts of ourselves we often ignore or suppress. Now, I help others reconnect with that part of themselves, guiding them with both compassion and motivation.

Instead of jumping on a sales call, I have a chat (for free) with new clients to find out what they’re looking for. As a mentor, I see in my students what they don’t yet see in themselves. I let people feel how I think, going from disconnected or unsure to more confident, self-aware with more clarity about their past, present and future. This has helped hundreds of my clients feel more expressive and grounded in who they are.

There are thousands of music tutors who are brilliant at teaching people how to play, compose, produce and/or sing, but I combine my music lessons with mentoring, emotional intelligence and personal growth during conversations when I notice students struggling to play, sing or understand something. Having worked with Musicians, Youth Workers, Support Workers and learning from Counsellors and Psychotherapists, I have gained knowledge and experience which I use to empathise, understand my clients’ struggles and reflect it back to them so that they can start putting together the pieces and understand why they feel a certain way, unlocking more clarity about what it is that’s holding them back. This way I build professional, educative, nurturing and empowering relationships which is what makes it more personal for my clients as I guide them through seeing a ‘before-and-after’ version of themselves, a version of them who has the musical skills they always wanted (or already had but were lacking self-belief), someone who is content, grounded, expressive and happier with who they are.

Program breakdown (more detail in student hand-book after sign-up)

Week 1-2: Awareness (mind)

  • Understanding where you are now (focusing on being more present to identify where to start)

  • Identifying blocks (a quick glimpse in the rear-view mirror to reflect and find lessons in the past to have more clarity about where you are now, focusing on turning ‘negative’ experiences to opportunities for growth)

Week 3-4: Expression (music)

  • Using music to unlock emotion (your chosen instrument/voice to play/learn/write songs that speak to you from a deep place)

  • Letting go of ‘playing perfectly’ (accepting yourself as you are, focusing on being more present to learn/improve music skills and techniques)

Week 5-6: Confidence/Discipline (music & mind)

  • Building trust in yourself (finding things to be grateful for including previous achievements no matter how ‘small’ to create new and healthier patterns that helps to move forward)

  • Expressing (focusing on the power of now by getting lost in playing/learning/writing music and accepting that as humans, it is okay for us to ‘overthink’ yet still act differently, more in favour for ourselves)

Week 7-8: Integration & Consistency (music & mind)

  • Becoming that version of yourself (understanding that the version has always been there, you just needed to give yourself permission to be it)

  • Making this part of your day-to-day (with compassion towards yourself, setting realistic goals and making more time to reflect regularly to keep on top of being there for yourself)

Please note: This is not a therapy course. Under the Music Self-Connection Programme there will be no diagnosis, trauma or therapeutic outcomes. Gergo is a music educator and well-being mentor who helps his clients understand themselves better through the arts, music and reflective questions.
