Hello
Welcome to my online music classroom where you will learn to play & reconnect with who you are through music, guidance and deep personal transformation.
As a Professional Private Music Tutor, Wellbeing Mentor and a member of ISM and Music Teachers UK with over a decade's experience in teaching how to play the guitar, piano, drums, singing, song-writing and music technology lessons for complete beginners to intermediate learners, I deliver sessions in a fun and interactive way to help people build confidence in playing, performing as well as understanding music theory, vocal techniques and original composition skills.
The music industry can feel like a place where musicians are judged and validation is something a lot of people look to get from an audience. I help people express their emotions, learn about themselves through music, increase their self-esteem and to validate themselves giving them the power they already have within using my compassionate mentoring style I developed during my Youth Support Worker years working with YMCAs.
As an independent musician, the skills I gained from playing with other professionals, studies at universities and other courses such as Estill Voice Training allows me to tailor lessons to individuals' needs to armour my students with knowledge and technique.
My Story
With my knowledge and experience of over 20 years spent composing & playing music live in acoustic duos, trios, solo private events such as weddings, hen parties, pub gigs, festivals and time spent with rock bands in recording studios working on professional releases as well as doing work for over a decade within a Youth Work setting delivering one-to-one sessions and group workshops, I have been tailoring every lesson to individuals' needs to get the best out of my learners.

Youth Matters Awards Winner
As a self-employed Professional Music Tutor, I believe in connecting with people on a deeper level practicing a compassionate and motivating teaching style that helped to get not just the best out of my learners the past 10 years, but my first professional and personal award in 2021 at the YMCA England & Wales Youth Matters Awards for being the Young Worker of The Year during lockdown where I chose to continue working to support communities by setting up my own home recording studio and showing people how they can do it too via online lessons.

As seen on BBC
Gergo was one of 5 workers who BBC Bitesize Careers met with to create a short film on their jobs and the impact they have had on young people in the UK. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zhxssk7

I teach:
- Basic guitar & ukulele chords & scales
- Beginner piano pieces from sheet music (lesson 1 to Grade 1)
- Vocal techniques ('support', larynx, vocal folds, effort, pitch & more)
- Hierarchy of songs' needs (songwriting from Zero to Hero!)
- Drum beats, fills, grooves, your favourite songs taught from drum sheet music
- Setting up a home recording studio
- Recording Techniques
- Mixing & Mastering Techniques
- Creative lyric writing techniques
All in the styles of: Acoustic, Rock, Pop, Funk, Soul, Country, Blues, Metal and Electronic Dance Music.

As an addition to teaching how to play instruments and singing, I offer to help learners how to setup their own home recording studio and share industry standard knowledge after studying audio engineering & record production for 5 years and being around artists for over two decades. Using ProTools as my choice of audio production software, I educate learners on original composition, recording & mixing techniques as well as how to release a song and distribute it to Spotify and many other streaming platforms.

So far I helped:
• Ages 5 to 60 online & in person
• Complete beginners guitar & piano (introduction to chords, patterns, melodic & rhythmic structures, song-writing, lyric-writing & music theory)
• Complete beginners drums (from tempo work and basic fills to learning how to read sheet music and rehearsing with tutor to get a feel for what it is like playing with someone/in a band)
• Singer/songwriters (understanding the basic anatomy of the voice, singing techniques & vocal distortion techniques)
• Grade 8 classical students (composing original songs, edit MIDI and how to record & mix original audio and virtual instruments)
• University & college students (supporting with the understanding of each module and criteria, compositions, live performances & tempo management)
• Young people with challenging behaviour (part of Gergo’s work at YMCA Swansea for over a decade face-to-face & online including supporting young offenders, at-risk children & neurodiverse people)
• People in need of support with confidence, stage presence and well-being (part of Gergo’s well-being sessions where music listening skills and one-to-one discussions are encouraged to reflect on personal experiences. Having open ended conversations with a mentor to find emotional blocks helps with tapping into the mind-to-muscle connection required for singing, writing organic, heartfelt lyrics and building confidence to accept your voice to step on stage or the recording studio to be YOU:)
